Union League of New York

Founded during the Civil War as siding with the Union, this historic club hosted a wonderful 3-course dinner with food that was popular in 1910 when the Original Penn Station was built along with cocktails, a book talk, and signing of the speaker book where Neil Armstrong, Ken Burns, and Sam Alito were previous speakers. Dinner menu items popular from 1910 included potato and leek soup with cornmeal crusted oysters, Guinness & beef pie with root vegetables, and oreo cheesecake as Nabisco had just invented the cookie.
